New XB270HU, has HDMI and 60hz out the box.

Go to solution Solved by Minsekt,

XB270HUD is the version with a TN Panel and comes with dp+hdmi- its usually around 100.- cheaper. you bought the wrong monitor if you wanted the ips panel.

Hello!

I am really confused right now.

Out of the box, it's 60hz through DP and as strange as this sounds has a HMDI port.

This got me thinking that they sent me the wrong model, but it the top corner it reads: "XB270HU".

I'm really, really confused D:

Any help is VERY much appreciated!

did you check if theres a 144hz option in the nvidia control panel?

I think the HDMI port is just there if someone who buys the monitor has different display outputs

(EG if the monitor wants to be used as a computer monitor and a display for a console of something)

Sorry Minsket, I'll get on that now.

Thank you both for your responses.

I found that option in the control panel, and it the 144hz options works correctly :D

However, I'm still confused why my model has a HDMI port, when after looking online they shouldn't have this. Also another thing to add, in the Nvidia control panel, the monitor name is: "XB270HU D". Not sure if that means anything, but I'll add it in to be sure.

I just hope I got the monitor I paid for, I will do those photos now.

The XB270HUD does have a HDMI port.....

So you might have gotten the TN varient of the XB270HU....

Well, that solves it.

I'll phone up Acer, because it says IPS on the box, and from the place I bought it from it just said "XB270HU".

All thanks to Acer's SH*T naming scheme.

Thank you for your help though. I'll update what I get from Acer.

Turns out I did order the wrong model,

Huge thank you Minsekt, knowing what model it ACTUALLY was made my refund a lot easier and faster.

I ordered it from Ballicom, and the item page was very misleading. It didn't show the FULL name of the product, only the XB270HU part. So when you search on Google, "XB270HUbprz" the page where I ordered it from will show up. Please be warned, if you're thinking of ordering the IPS version please be aware of the naming scheme and what the FULL NAME of the item is before ordering. I hope this prevents at least someone from making the same stupid mistake that I did.

Thanks again for your help guys :)
