Currently using A40 with Mixamp for Audio on everything (Mainly CSGO for footsteps) upon doing some research some dude said this: https://gyazo.com/69c8cb01730ae89ca1814911ee92553b

Opinions on his statement? do you think i'd be better using the Headset without the mixamp for PC gaming? would I still be able to speak and hear through it at the same time? sorry for stupid questions lol.

You should be able to pass the Mixamp and plug directly into your PC, and you should still be able to use the headphones and the micorphone.

Whether or not it's true I can't tell. I have very little experience with Astro headset, so I don't know if the DAC makes everything sound metallic or if the headset just sounds that way. But I do agree that they sound metallic.

However, there is only one way to find out. Plug the headset into your PC and see (hear?) if it makes a noticable difference in sound quality.

What's your budget? You'd be much better of with a pair of quality headphones and mic than a console-aimed "headset"

I used to own the A40 and mixamp myself but there are much better options out there for pc.

I don't like 2D games...I just couldn't get into them.. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

How can you conclude it sounds metallic when you admit to having little experience with the a40 and don't know what the mixamp sounds like? But yes, op should try it out and judge it for himself, ater all he's the one with the gears on hand.

Becuase the time I tried them they sounded metallic, and I only tried it plugged into the mixamp.

So, I don't know if the headphones themself sound metallic or the mixamp makes them sound that way, or if it's a mixture of the two.

This is why I suggested that s/he tried it out themself.
