Hi there

I would like to know a bit more about the different ways of charging my S6 and the conequences they have, mainly battery lifespan.

The two I would like to know about are wireless charging and Fast charging.

I use wireless charging every night to fully charge my phone and only use the adaptive fast charger included with the phone when I need to. Also I live in New Zealand so the output from the wall is 240W 12V I think.

Basically is wireless charging or fast charging going to negatively impact my phone which I'd like to last 2 years before I sell it and then upgrade. Also the Wireless charging pad is a samsung one that supports fast charge but the s6 doesnt fast charge of it.

Thanks for your help.

Your phone will only draw what it needs when charging. It shouldn't harm your battery.

 I think you mean 240v.

Heat is detrimental to battery life. Fast charging generates more heat than normal charging and wireless charging generates even more heat. I remember a Linus video where he said he uses a standard charger at night for daily charging to preserve battery lifespan.

You're doing fine with that method.

Like someone said heat is the enemy, so keep that in mind.

Dream-phone: USB type-c (3.1), 1440p, 5-inch, removable battery, 32gb RAMdrive, sd card slot, stock Android, transparent atomic purple build, 9050 mah battery, waterproof AF, nuclear powered, ac wifi is fine.
