Hey all, so I'm not sure if this is just the fact that I have a 4670k (which uses your grandma's poo as a thermal interface between the die and heatspreader) or if my H80i is dying, but I'd like to replace it with a more traditional tower cooler. I have a fairly hefty overclock on my CPU, but it's been idling around 50C at only 1.25~ volts. Would switching to a Dark Rock Pro 3 or a Phanteks PH-TC14PE help my temperatures and keep things a little cooler? Also I'm a bit worried about clearance with my corsair vengence ddr3 http://www.corsair.com/en-us/memory/vengeance?heatspreader=Vengeance|&memorytype=DDR3| and inside my phantom 410. Any advice? Thanks!

Update: I just learned that the temperature sensors in the bios are not accurate. CAM has been buggy on my computer, but I just got around to reinstalling and it's idling around the high 30C range. I did just replace my thermal paste maybe 20 minutes ago, I want to play some games and see if it's still higher than I'd like it to be.

Both of these air coolers should yield better temps for your CPU. I would prefer the Dark Rock simply because it looks much better.

RAM clearance: Here you can get all the necessary numbers for the Dark Rock Pro 3

Also there was a guy in the german beQuiet! forum with the same initial questing, text is not import, just have a look at these pictures.

I think the Vengence will be too high but it depends on the spacing of your motherboard.

The Darkrock pro 3 will perform pretty much the same as the H80I.

There's also the fact that my h80i is 3 years old and I'm worried about the pump giving out or the fittings leaking.

Well, with an air cooler you won't have to worry about liquid leaking.

I had my H100i for 3 years as well, only RMAed it, because the LED died.

Yeah the Green and Blue LED's in the pump died on mine too, but I didn't think it was that big of a deal.
