How to make a Tekkit server

I decided to try to download the tekkit launcher, I'm thinking about making a server, not full time one, but one that me a a friend or two can play games on.  I don't know how to make one, and I was looking for some guidance.

 ALSO I will be playing mostly tekkit classic, but maybe some custom packs do the different packs make a difference?

I honestly wouldnt bother with tekkit its buggy and unreliable and can crash ALOT if you computer you would be alot better off making a server for somthing like Resonant Rise 3 which is what the likes of the Yogscast use for the minecraft series (Flux Buddies, To The Core, Druidz ect) its a lot better optimised and uses latest versions of mods so you can use a fairly new version of mine craft aswell
