Windows10 to Windows7

You'll have to manually back up the things you want to keep. If you only have one drive, and not a backup to move things to, you could repartition the drive beforehand, and then move everything you want to keep to the new partition, then format the parent partition and install Windows 7 on it. Then copy things back, then remove the created partition. I think that should work.

If you upgraded from Windows 10 within the last month from Windows 7, you can revert whilst losing only the Windows 10 Apps, which you would not be able to get with Windows 7 regardless.

 

After that, however, I can't say for certain if you can without losing anything.

If you intend to install Windows 7 again, back up your files. You will have to reinstall your applications, but if you simply must, then you'll have to suck it up, I guess.

So create a partition, move everything i want to keep onto that and format the original? Is there anyway to "copy" the registry from windows 10 to the windows 7 install so i don't need to reinstall all the applications?

Do as @Delicieuxz says and partition a part of your drive, and put the files you want to keep there, and install Windows 7 on your main partition.

Yes. But another thing you could do is just upload everything you want to keep to a free file storage host, like https://mega.nz

They give 50 GB free storage for an account, with fast upload and download speeds. And if you have more than that to upload, you could make 2 or more accounts, and get 50GB storage space for each.

To be honest, I wouldn't bother.

 

If you don't mind my asking what do you have installed on your computer that makes you not want to have to reinstall it?

I just didn't want to have to install everything again for it to input registry keys is all. I guess i could keep my windows 10 install and just shrink the partition and start over on the windows 7 one.

That is a lie. I did this and lost everything. All my steam games saved videos so I just fresh installed.
