I have a Gigabyte Z170X-Gaming 7 motherboard with 2 on board M.2 slots I am wondering if I can have a 980 Ti SLI configuration on top of the M.2 Raid 0. I have two Gigabyte GTX 980 Ti Xtreme Gaming cards in SLI, they take up 2 1/2 slots, so I can't fit my raid card in the 3rd PCIE slot which had 4 SSDs attached to it, significantly decreasing my SSD storage.

It's my understanding that the chipset provides 8 PCIe 3.0 lanes that the M.2 slots use, so it should be fine.

What specific SSDs are you using?

Yeah, those are both PCIe 3.0 x4 and the chipset provides 8 PCIe 3.0 lanes, while your GPUs both require PCIe 3.0 x8 and your CPU provides 16 PCIe 3.0 lanes.

So, in theory, it's fine. I don't actually have the parts to test it, however, so I still won't claim absolute knowledge.
