Network Connectivity Suddenly Shot

My computer seems to just have hit a wall. I went from 5 mbps download to 1 mbps. The connection will sometimes stop working every once in a while. Sometimes I get DNS error protocol and have tried flushing DNS, resetting router, and reinstalling ethernet driver.  I'm using a repeater on a Win7 OS.
