DVD ROM DRIVE

Yeah so I've got an old optical drive siting around and I dont even think there is a SATA power connector on. Here are pics. I think there used to be these large ass connector which were like an inch large tape looking cable right?

Realised there is a 4 pins molex connector, now I'm wondering what cable I need to plug it into the mobo?

Yep. You'd need molex for power and IDE for data. For modern motherboards, you'll be needing an IDE to SATA adapter, though.

Balls then, my mobo effectivly does not have an IDE port, guess Il'l have to wait a bit then. Thanks again!

To be honest, you can pick up external DVD reader/writers for $15 or so. Unless you need to use disks a lot, I would just get one of them. And even if you did need one a lot, you can get internal SATA ones pretty cheap. Adapters are ugly (not to mention the IDE cable) and annoying, so I wouldn't use it.

Stop down at a PC store and see if they have any spare sata disk drives

Not immediately knowing what that drive needs shows how old you are. Makes me pretty old too.

For real I've seen an IDE cable like  once before, so I had no clue. Do you want to know where I've got that drive from? No? Well I don't care, so here are pictures. LOOK AT THE AMOUNT OF DUST IN THAT THING
