It seems to be coming from where the cable connects to the power supply, and when I press down on the cable the noise stops. It doesn't seem to make the noise all the time either. My PSU is the OCZ ZT Series 750 Watt. I am hoping someone here can help me figure out the cause, and if it is critical or can be fixed/RMA'ed.

Below is a soundcloud clip of the buzzing noise.

If you push on the power supply, does it disappear?

It could be that something is loose inside it, and when you press on the cable it's putting pressure onthat thing inside the PSU. I really would not risk it. I had my 750w powercool PSU blow up and it frightened the shit out of me. Don't risk it, get a query from OCZ to see if they'll RMA, and if they will, do it.

If this were a fan making this noise, I would tell you to investigate it more and see if you can fix it on your own. But a PSU is nothing to mess with. A PSU can do some serious damage or even cause a fire if it is defective. I think you need to contact the company tomorrow morning when they open and tell them EXACTLY what is going on. ANY ANY ANY noise in a PSU that is not the normal fan spinning noise is bad.

If my PSU even made a small noise for a 10th of a second one time only, I would have Antec on the phone in a matter of seconds. Not an email, but on the phone. A landline too. Well, that's going a little too far. But you get the point

I get 60 frames at 1080p on a dual core APU. Ask me how.

It sounds more like rattling to me if it stops when you push on the cord. You'd have no effect on the power supply's actual functionality. Try messing with the screws that hold in the power supply.

-Godlygamer23- It stops when I push on the cord, not the power supply itself.

-Classics & threadysparrow- I just submitted a ticket to OCZ, so hopefully they will be able to RMA it.

keep us updated with everything because I want to know how it turns out. I had a problem once with a PSU that whistled.
