hello,

 

I would look to know if it's possible to get more sata connections than there are standard on your motherboard.

for instance i buy a Motherboard with 6 sata slots. Is there maybe some kind of splitter or card so i can have more sata connections/slots?

I like the color scheme of Noctua fans. Deal with it. Forget about the bad memories of the past.

8 ssd raid 0

Dude.... You're going to max out the SATA 3 interface...  Better go with 4 large drives in RAID 10...

Krijnrien linus has this in his build and iir he has said multiple times that it was plain stupid and you should never do it.

I suspect he will mention it during an upcoming video about putting ssds in raid using the onboard sata connectors on Z87 mobos.

 

Basically the chance of failure is A LOT higher and the performance gain is really nothing at all if you are putting more then 2 ssds in raid0 also it will add more time while booting because the PC needs to figure out the raid array as well before it can boot. If one of the ssds gets funky with you it'll also mean it won't boot at all and require you to rebuild the raid array and complicated stuff like that which will end up being a real pain in the ass.

 

conclusion: wait for linus' video about ssds in raid0 then figure out if you really wanna do this.
