Google Chrome Refusing To Launch

Hope this is the proper section for my problem, since I have quite the conundrum on my hands. I recently purchased a laptop and per my usual rhetoric, I wiped it and did a fresh install of Windows 10. Everything has been peachy for several weeks until just recently, when I noticed that when I attempted to launch Google Chrome, no window would pop up. It would display in the task manager, taking up resources, but nothing at all would come up. I attempted to launch from the directory itself, as an administrator and even in compatibility mode with zero progress. It worked in the past no problem, but now all of the sudden has decided to stop working on me.

Fast forward to today; I figured a fresh reinstall would do the trick, but now the darn thing won't even install! It gets stuck on 'downloading' during the install. Windows task manager shows zero activity for the network associated with the installer. I've been on two different networks and have encountered the same issue. Microsoft Edge works without problem, and Chrome on my other devices works flawlessly. It seems to not agree with my laptop anymore. Any ideas on what a solution could be? Thanks for any insight.

TL;DR

Chrome refuses to launch. I've already tried running as admin, from the directory itself and in compatibility mode with latest updates installed. The reinstall hangs at the 'download' stage, refusing to progress despite being on good networks.

Just as I posted this my laptop ran another Windows Update, and somewhere in there it fixed the hangup. Works good as new then. Man, I feel like an idiot.
