So is the budget 2000 or 1200 then.. lol.. That makes a huge difference.. If you're shown something thats $1400 because you said the max is 2,000 are you going to ignore it because it's not $1200?

This is my advice post.

Get a better SSD. What @Samppa221 listed is much better than the one you first listed.

The R9 390 is a better GPU than the GTX 970. You don't have to switch but it's recommended.

You need a different motherboard. Chances are your 4790k will not work in that Z87 board. You need Z97. If you live near a Micro Center, they have great prices on motherboards.

That's a bit expensive for a 23" 1080p monitor. Mine doesn't have all the fancy adjustableness that the ASUS has, but it's a whole lot cheaper. Though, it does have a glossy finish: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/acer-h6-series-23-ips-led-hd-monitor-black/4751006.p?a=1&ref=199&loc=jo/pTdthTuc&acampID=1&siteID=jo_pTdthTuc-eQ8htGJar8I9gLbrgCZdjA

With all the parts I listed, it comes down to this. I changed the motherboard (it's $110 at Micro Center,) a 4790k is $300 at Micro Center, the SSD was changed, the monitor was changed (it's a bit more expensive with yours,) changed the GPU, changed the PSU to 650w:

Yeah me neither, but I figured there's not really any reason to get a K series cpu without overclocking, and any case, it's not any harder to install than a hyper 212 lol.

I was talking to him earlier and he seemed pretty set on getting a i7. Might wanna move some of that money to a evo and towards the i7.

Well, realistically I'm not going to spend all day trying to come up with a configuration that he might want, This is my recommendation for the budget provided.. You can skimp on all kinds of things to save money for other parts.. Which I've already kind of done, I usually prefer to get a better motherboard..

But..

He hasn't provided any useful information like what the computer is going to be used for, what components he might already have, if he requires an o/s or not, all I had to go by was what he already had in his own partpicker list, the thread title says $2,000 his posts inside say $1,200..

Maybe he can come up with a plan or some requirements or something and people can help more from there.
