Recovering iPhone Message

So my dad wants to recover an old message, but I have looked up on the internet and I have found nothing. It is not backed and I don't want to bother with 3rd Party Apps. Does anyone know what else to do?

you dont want to bother with 3rd party apps... ok. So unless apple had a undelete feature how exactly do you expect to get it back?
