I'd say go at least 32-64 GB. Most modern OSes don't like things less than 16GB. I filled 128GB on my SSD in just a few days.

Where did you even get a 8GB SSD? And no, you'll probably fill up that 8GB after just installing Windows.

Umm so where is windows going to put your hibernation file or swap? I doubt it will install if it does it wont run well at all. 32GB minimum even then id say 64 is as low as i would go.

Honestly, things like that aren't really good unless you want to use them for embedded options.  An 8GB SSD would be perfect for NAS4Free or something for example, which only needs 2GB for it's OS drive.  (Though a USB key works super there too)  For a normal windows install, 8GB isn't even enough to get the OS installed in the first place.
