7990+7970 xfire?

Hi, I've had my 7990 since launch, now I feel like upgrading and I wanted your guy's opinion. Should I get a 7970 and trifire, 980ti or wait for the next gen Nvidia card? Thanks in advance guys!

Haha yeah and that's why I kind of want to wait on the 980 to see how much the price drops.

A HD 7990 is a beast of a card, adding an extra Tahiti based GPU (HD 7870 XT, HD 7950, R9 280, HD 7970 or R9 280x) is probably not going to give you much more preformance and may make your games unplayable with visual oddities.

 

I'd wait till Polaris or Pascal.

You can possibly sell those card. Quick ebay check and first one to pop up is around 210. So maybe get a 980ti and purchase what ever comes out later from nvidia

The preformance jump stops around 3 ways crossfire with some setups doing worse with 3 and 4 way compared to 2 way.
