Hyperactive GPU Fan

So I have an XFX R7 260x and it's a great little GPU for what I need (although I'm considering an upgrade but w/e) but my only fault with it is that the fan seems to go crazy whenever I do anything, whatever the temps are. I've changed the fan curve which basically makes fuck all difference because the fan just ramps up at 100% load no matter what the temps or fan curve is. 

 

The fan curve works up until gaming and then it just says "fuck it, let's put the fan at 50%", which is incredibly loud on this card.

Uninstall MSI Afterburner. Update to Radeon Crimson...that's it...reset your MSI Afterburner too.

Already on Crimson, I'll try uninstalling afterburner and reinstalling, I'll check for an updates to Crimson too.

Done this, exact same result.

 

Does Afterburner not work on full screen mode or something because the second I press "retire to windows" the fan goes down to 15%.

Try upgrading to beta drivers. I use those and they work better. Uninstall Afterburner and all the settings. Never use it. Or try RMA'ing the card
