iv got a msi gaming 970 mother board and a fx 6300 (stock speeds) with 8gb 1600mhz ram and my north ridge is really hot I just bought new fans 3 blowing in and 1 exhaust thinking that would help ( it didn't) so I put a 80 mm on my graphics cards blowing directly on the heatsink, it might have lowered it a little but when gaming it still gets to hot to touch. would appreciate the help.

The northbridge is going to get pretty warm. It's handling a lot. Your perception of temperature is meaningless due to how sensitive our bodies are.

Too hot to touch is probably 70+ degrees C though... is that normal?

We have no idea what the temperatures are, nor do we know how sensitive the OP is to heat.

well in that case I'd recommend a program to show all of the temperatures, like HWMonitor :)

Is this effecting performance at all? If not I would just leave it, the north bridge is handling tons of back and forth communication every clock cycle between your memory and processor, this only increases when gaming rendering so I wouldn't worry
