Sky Internet connection proble.

Got a few problems with connecting a laptop via wireless to a new Internet home hub, the rest of the laptops work but a connection error comes up one one and I'm not sure why

Is it an older laptop? 

What wireless security setting are you using  currently? (WEP/WPA/WPA2...etc)

Wpa2, its a sony win 7 with new nework, tried a network cable to

What model is the hub? And is it actually a "hub" like a switch, or is that just product name? If a network cable isn't working, there might be a issue with the laptop. When was the last time it got online? 

 

Last, what model laptop? Or more specifically, what OS? Try Windows Key + R > NCPA.CPL > Right click on what ever connection your using and click "Diagnose" if available. What does the test say?

It's a sky home hub, the laptops is running windows 7 and I don't currently have the laptop but km pretty sure it said the cable may be broken
