Hello all!

Yesterday, my boss told me (I work at a computer repair and building shop of three employees) that he wants me to take all of the old systems that people either gave us or were left and dismantle them to organize everything and test wether or not it works. From there, he wants me to organize all of those parts so we can pick and choose if needed. I need two things from you guys:

1. What is your optimal setup for testing components quickly. I need to be as fast as possible with this, so I need ideas for how to test which components work. Will be: CPUs (can test those in their original mobos), ram, gpus, hdds and ssds, psus, and other things. What do you guys have for ideas on how to do this?

2. What do you recommend for the way to sort it. Of course we will do cpus and ram and everything separately, but what do you recommend for storing cpus, gpus, ram, hdds and ssds, etc etc. I'm talking about bins and containers, etc.

Thanks!

I would recommend sorting them primarily after generation, and then after performance. For example:

GPUS:

-700 Series

  -760

  -770

  -780

  -Titan

  -780Ti

  -Titan Z

-900 Series

  -960

  -970

  -980

  -980Ti

  -Titan X

Good idea, although I'll also add some of the old af cards to that because that's most of what we get lol

storage wise i have one of these from ikea (i can get you the name of the shelving system and the bins if you want)

testing wise, i have a bunch of systems for testing different stuff. i have a linux machine for anything related to hard drives, i have a windows machine i mostly use for testing GPUs,mobos and cpus get tested together with me (every cpu i have is a different chipset, so mixing doesnt have much use :P ), and ram kinda floats around where its necessary, and gets tested in the system i need it in because i've had some very odd oddities happen with ram sticks.
