Hello everyone, As you see im new to the Overclocking world and Im trying to overclock my new I7 6700k on a water cooled system. I tried a simple 4.5ghz ( which for me seems pretty ok for this chip ). I used 45 in the multiplier and a Voltage of 1.325v. The thing is I run Intelburn Test and it runs smooth ( 10 minutes ) then I run  HeavyLoad stress test for about 20 minutes and everything is fine. I can browse the web and play diablo no problem. But as soon as i hop into Just case 3, GTAV, or Any other graphic demanding game I get a Bsod with whea uncorrectable error. When i put the speed to Stock ( 4.0 and 4.2 boost )  the games run smooth.

Im running windows 10

motherboard Msi gaming M5

I7 6700k

Trident Z 16gb at 3200

Gtx 980 FTW edition.

Thanks

10 and 20 mins are nowhere near long enough to get a good sense of stability. For your final overclock stress test, run it for at least two hours. I personally use 2 hours in occt to validate my overclocks, and I never had a bsod on an oc that passed that test.

My rig:
CPU: i5 4690k 24/7 @4.4ghz (1.165v) Max 4.7ghz (1.325v) COOLER: NZXT Kraken X61 MOBO: Asus Z97-A   RAM: 16GB Crucial Ballistix Tactical   GPU: EVGA GTX 970 SSC   PSU: EVGA GS 650W   CASE: NZXT Phantom 530 HDD: WD Caviar Blue 1TB + WD Black 2TB

  • 2 weeks later...

after all this time everything was going good, Until just now where i was trying to stream and play at the same time. ( streaming rust ) I got the same error again at 4.5ghz and 1.340Vcore. IDk what to do. Eeven running the cpu in stock settings the Vcore goes up to 1.410 sometimes when boosted.
