Same speakers and same keyboard/mouse on two computers

Hello,

I have two computers : my main desktop PC running Windows 10, and  Mac Mini from work that I use only .. for work.

I'm connecting the two computers to my monitor : the Mac via HDMI, the PC via VGA.

I'd like to use the same speakers and the same mouse/keyboard on both computers. The speakers have two cables going to the computer (one orange, one green) and the keyboard has 2 USB. Since I frequently switch between the two, it's annoying to have 4 different cables to switch between computer.

Is there a device that would allow me to use the same keyboard/mouse on two computers? Some sort of USB switch perhaps. Probably two different devices, one for the speakers and one for the USB keyboard and mouse.

I live in Canada, and don't really have a budget for this. The speakers are pretty cheap though, so there's no need to pay too much to get the best sound quality possible, I just want something that works!

Thanks :)

I'm unsure if splitters would work for this, but in theory, I think they would. If it wouldn't, you could get some USB and Audio extension cables from somewhere like Monoprice, and then just have it so that you can connect/disconnect the cables super easy without having to go behind your computers. You could even get different colored cables to keep it all color-coded and such. The only downside is that the cable clutter could get a bit crazy.

You need a device called a KVM switch with audio (KVM stands for keyboard, video, mouse)

Look on newegg for them, they are pretty cheap for the VGA ones, but the signal degrades a fair amount. The KVM switch I used at work had built in audio
