I'm just looking for any comments/changing people might have to the parts that I currently have chosen. I'm looking to stay under $500. It is over right now, but I do not plan to go up anymore. I am going to be playing games, nothing to intense that it won't be able to handle, basic daily school work, and running visual studio and doing some programming. I'm going with the i3, because I plan to upgrade in the summer, just don't have the funds for it right now.

seems like a solid build. as you say your getting it for school work, I cannot stress enough the difference that an SSD would make. If not in the original build, it is certainly a worthy upgrade at somepoint.

Just now, Tjubes said:

I'd go with a newer mobo so you can upgrade to DDR4 RAM in the future.

And since a PC is mostly a long term investment, a bit future proof wouldn't hurt IMHO.

i was looking for a newer mobo. any that you would recommend?
