Laptop display goes off

When i change the brightness on my laptop it shuts the display off. its just a black screen when it does, the computer is still functional, because sounds and everything i do is registering still and changing the brightness after the screen goes black still changes the brightness of the black screen. This is really annoying because in many classes the lights are turned off for a lecture and taking notes with a blindingly bright screen is not acceptable, same with a dim screen in a lighter situation. I have windows 10 64 bit.

So the screen goes normal after lowering your brightness? Than that's your only option.

it goes off when i change my brightness either way. lower or higher
