Ridska here,

Im looking for a case for my friend. He's chose is the Phanteks enthoo pro luxe, While it is a solid chose for his first build , I checked our local hardware store and there out of stock.

So Im looking for an alternative to the phanteks case and i need recomendations.

Thanks and stay groovie :D

Does he want/need the LED's?

Instead of the Phanteks Enthoo Luxe, he could go for the Enthoo Pro, which is essentially the same case without the lighting.

Another option of course is the line up from Fractal Design (R5 or Define S) or from NZXT (H440). Cooler Master Master Case 5 and the newer Carbide line up from Corsair are also worth considering.

phanteks enthoo pro | intel i5 4690k | noctua nh-d14 | msi z97 gaming 5 | 16gb crucial ballistix tactical | msi gtx970 4G OC  | adata sp900

Somthing thats close to the luxe , has led lighting , an exellente case with bunch of features.

I would say S340, H440 or enthoo Pro, LED lighting can be put in later down the line

to game or not to game, that`s the question

I suggest checking out Hardware Canucks who specialize in case reviews. Also may I suggest to tell us your friends computers hardware/specs like ATX motherboard and cpu cooler to know if it will fit in a case.

Yesturday , we brought some of the hardware.

cpu : intel i5 4690 LGA 1150.

cpu cooler : Nuctua NH-U9B SE2

mobo : MSI Z97 gaming 3 LGA 1150.

ram was kingston hyperX savage 8 gb kit.

Note : we did brought other hardware but i think its kind of pointless to inclued them if your going to decide the fit of the hardware into the case.

So your looking for a case that will be able to fit a ATX motherboard, the cpu cooler is 125 x 95 x 120 mm (including fan) ram doesn't so much matter. So no idea what his GPU is?

If your having issues working it out I suggest using Pc Part Picker which estimates if the parts are all compatible and will fit into the case. https://pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/.

Personally I would recommend these Brands for a case Phanteks, Coolmaster and Corsair cases with easy cable management and easy customization to fit your friends rig in.

And we were thinking of getting aftermarket cooler for the GPU as well down the line.

Personally I won't get into the complicated cooling add-ons yet, just make sure the basic parts of the computer will fit in the case.

Also I strongly suggest using  https://pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/. to enter your friends parts to give you a good idea if all the part would fit in your desired case.

Now just add the one of cases your friend's looking at buying and pcpartpicker will tell you if its compatible with all other the parts.

I've used Pcpartpicker for alot of builds and has been very good with its estimate on the compatibility with cases and parts.

But its also good to keep in mind to try to work out the measurement yourself just in case and for custom add-ons like liquid cooling.

Also I've heard good reviews about Fractal Design R5 and planning on moving my rig into it.

Hope this helps.
