I'm looking for a graphics card for around $50 used. I've been looking on ebay ect but just don't know enough about them to know what is a good deal or if they are worth buying. I'm just looking to though it in a cheap build for my son to play minecraft and other older games with. Is $50 enough to find something worthwhile and if so what do you suggest to keep my eyes open for? Thanks!

Look around for something used on eBay, Craigslist and whatnot. You'd be surprised by what you can find.

Look for something like a 760, 750 Ti or 660 Ti on the NVIDIA side, or an R7 270, R7 260X or 7790 on the AMD side.

What is the rest of the system? Are you sure that you can't get by with the onboard graphics?

Sir William of Orange: Corsair 230T - Rebel Orange, 4690K, GA-97X SOC, 16gb Dom Plats 1866C9,  2 MX100 256gb, Seagate 2tb Desktop, EVGA Supernova 750-G2, Be Quiet! Dark Rock 3, DK 9008 keyboard, Pioneer BR drive. Yeah, on board graphics - deal with it!

I haven't got the rest setup yet. All I've got is a case and power supply. I got real good deal on those. I think I'm going to grab that 560 if I can. Hard to beat for $30.

I'm not sure what to get with the motherboard and cpu. I thought about going with the onboard graphics but figured for around $50 I'd give him the boost incase he wants to play something a little better.
