Hyper 212 EVO Orientation

Hello all,

I just built my new gaming pc.  Everything is working well.  I just have one concern/question.  The 212 EVO is vibrating against the angle of the bump out in my computer case.  If i were to rotate the 212 EVO to a horizontal orientation, would I need to reapply the thermal paste? Or could I just readjust the heat sink.

Thanks a lot.

I would reapply the thermal paste as if your reorient it the thermal paste might have bubbles in it which will give your cpu poor cooling.

You don't need to but it would be recommended.

I'd recommend reapplying it, but if you don't it's not like your CPU is going to melt.

I always recommend cleaning and reapplying fresh thermal paste if you do any lifting or moving of your CPU cooler. If not you end up with air bubbles that can cause dramatic effects on cooling.
