USB 2 pci support USB mouse/keyboard

cleb

I'm asking this is the case of an old PC that currently only has usb1.0 and ps2 mouse/keyboard support. If I take a 2.0 card will it support USB peripherals.

As far as I know peripherals work just fine in USB 1

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

So I'm more likely to just be dealing with a broken usbport?

USB is backwards and forwards compatible using the same connector, USB 3.0 Type A can plug into USB 1.0 Type A :P

I know you can plug it in

But my mouse/keyboard don't seem to work on it

Could be.  Does anything else work in that port?

Haven't pulled it out since I was convinced I'd need to make up for the usb1 ports.
