Having a bit on an issue.

So i just bought a second monitor and its the same as my first one (Acer S271HL) but the colors don't seem right. Blacks are a slight bit of grey on the second monitor, and whites are too bright, compared to the first monitor where the blacks are black and the whites are like a warm dim tone. Now the first monitor is connected via DVI and the second via HDMI, how do i get the second monitor to look like the first one? the graphics card i have is a GTX 980 with 3 DP, 1 HDMI and 1 DVI. Solutions i have tired are, NVIDIA Control Panel, Advanced Display settings on Windows 10, and on monitor picture settings. I uploaded a picture as well showing what i'm talking about. Look at the top where the black bar is, then take a look at the white. i hope i'm not going insane. if anyone has a solution or might have a solution it would be super helpful. Thanks EDIT : The left is DVI and the right is HDMI.

Pretty much mess around with the colour setting on the display menu of the monitors themselves, but there's only going to be so much you can do. Monitors under $500 are very rarely calibrated for colour correctness.

First step would be to make sure they are the same monitor, then match settings on the monitors, then adjust those as necessary if you can't get them to match, then adjust in-OS settings (nvidia control panel, etc.) to make them match.  But you've already done all that, so moving on...

Not every monitor will be identical, even if they are the same make and model.  This is due to minor manufacturing differences and the fact that they aren't calibrated like $1000+ screens would be.

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

unfortunately my monitors don't have DP =( but i had thought that HDMI and DVI where the same in quality, the only exception being that HDMI can carry audio.

Yes, they should be - they are both digital signals, so there should be literally zero difference.  If someone believes there is a difference, I would very much like to A ) see proof and B ) know why they are different (if they are in fact)

Thanks for the much needed info i guess ill just stick with it till i can get the monitors i want. which brings me to a question to ask you, or anyone else who wants to answer. are there any good 27" 144hz monitors out there within the price range of about $500.00 USD each?
