Okay so I have a plan, to use a RPi2 /w 3.5" screen for a Network testing device, maybe complete with some telnet and tracert scripts also, but I would like some advice.

So the RPi's GPU is proprietary which is fine by me, but I wanted the main OS to be Kali Linux, so is it actually possbile to get it running under Kali, maybe a kernel rebuild with modules from Raspbian kernel? hacked as hell but may work although I expect stability to be shocking here.

Second is the screen, its touch enabled so I plan to use a virtual keyboard as I have a little stylus for it, but how would you go about this? have a startup script launch a terminal as soon as root is logged in, branching from this I could go two ways, have a desktop manager launch the user then have a startup scipt, or save resources and have it log me into a DE with another script, OR could I use a Virtual keyboard with i3 DE for root? So many ideas, thoughts on this?

Another thing is I would like a power on switch, so the machine would be shutdown via terminal or GUI for a "Safe" shutdown, but when I power it on its done by a power button, would I use the GPIO or solder something else onto it, I would much prefer a GPIO solution.

Adding to all this would be a battery, I was thinking of a USB bank just for ease of use which could eliminate the need for a power button and its super easy to charge up.

And finally (For now) is there a case that would fit a 3.5" screen + RPi2 in for structure stability? ideally rubber but I aint too fussy.

The screen is this one linked here -> http://www.amazon.co.uk/Touch-Screen-Designed-Raspberry-Model/dp/B00SKOPWC4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1454338882&sr=8-1&keywords=3.5%22+RPI+screen

Thanks!
