I would spend the extra $50 for the 4790K... this is not Skylake.  Haswell CPUs don't like BCLK overclocking.

Do you pay sales tax?

Don't need it today.  A year or two down the road you might want to.  Look at it this way, even if you just want to upgrade later on... the resale of the K-Series is much higher than the locked version.

What would you change?

Just the case.  It is really a cheap case.  The 300R is where you can start referring to your case as "good" or "decent", instead of value/budget.  You can save a bit on the PSU too.

The case fan is not worth $10.  It is a $5 fan.  Don't get fooled.  At $10, you can get a BeQuiet 140mm Silent Wings fan  <<<a really good fan.

Damn man, that is $1270, are you to pay tax on that CPU as well?

@DutchTexan I was at $1192 (taxes included).  All I was missing was a 1TB HDD and a modular PSU.

I guess I’ll find out lol. The whole thing is $10 cheaper too because I selected the wrong merchant for the wireless card. That fan has a $5 rebate.

What like 5 of them?  =D

The board is fine.  I have used AsRock for a good 8 builds with friends, I have a Z77 Extreme III in my PC right now.  They are solid boards.
