So my friend is trying to install windows 7 onto his freshly built gaming pc. However, when he tries to install the windows 7 via usb boot stick. It gives him a message "A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy, CD, DVD or USB flash drive, please insert it now."

He tried to repair the file already but nothing works. Please help.

your going to want to install windows 10 most likely, 7 is having its support cut off and is also going to be filled with crap bugging you to upgrade to windows 10, Make a usb installer with this tool:

I've usually had this happen when the image copied to the USB drive is corrupted. Most of the time due to a failing USB stick or using front panel connectors that aren't working properly. Try a different USB stick (plugged into one of the rear i/o ports of whichever PC you're using to make the installer drive} and make sure to use rufus to make the bootdisk.

I get this when it's plugged into a USB 3 port. Do it on a normal usb port

he plugs it into a 2.0
