Hey guys, I started thinking about upgrading my rig (specs in the sig). As you can see it has a few flaws. I want to get an SSD, CPU cooler and GPU upgrade. The GPU would be the priority no. 1.

This is what I plan to do with this system:

Gaming, newest blockbusters, like Crysis 3, BF4 exc. (I want 60FPS with high/ultra settings, 4x AA @ 1080p)

OC the CPU (It is Haswell so I don't think it will push very much, but I want 4.3-4.5ghz)

OC the GPU(s) (Depending on the model, I don't want to push very hard, just around 200mhz)

F@H full load

SSD - I want 240-256GB and use it as a cache with Intel SRT, for Windows and a few games. Budget: €180 max

CPU cooler - I didn't really choose anything, because I don't know what would be good for that OC, to keep the tempatures under 90°C, preferably lower. Budget: €70 including thermal compound max

GPU - First of all I don't know what can my PSU handle and what not. SLI/Xfire will  be better in terms of price, because I want to get the first card in the first weeks of November to enjoy BF4 in it's full beauty, then get the second one around Christmas. I could, of course wait until the Christmas time with my current GPU, but in that case I might not be able to sell my current GPU. I was thinking about these solutions: GTX780, SLI GTX770 4GB, XFire HD7970 (Not sure about power requirements), XFire HD9950 (again not sure about the power requirements, and possibility only if it's price is around €400). I prefer MSI, if it is NVidia, EVGA is fine too.  All these solutions should fit my budget

I will be probably shopping here: http://www.alza.cz/EN/ , it is already translated to english but it isn't very good, also the prices are in CZK, please convert it into EUR, the prices are the same, because the same shop is in my country.

What would you pick?

Wait for 9k series. Your PSU is fine for everything but 780 SLI and 7970 CF.

(Well technically 750w can run dual 780 and 7970 config, but I would stay safe with 800-850+ for those two specific setups.) I can't speculate what you would need to run 9950 CF particularly because nobody knows what kind of power it's going to be drawing.

Not too sure about the ssd, but i have a mushkin chronos and it's great.

As for the cpu cooler, just go with the Hyper 212, you don't really need much more,

and finally for the video card try to avoid sli/cf and just get the most powerful card you can budget.

Wait for 9000 series or get a 780. A 7950 CF is also a viable option as they are really cheap atm.

SSD - Samsung 840 (or EVO)

CPU Cooler depends on if you want Air or Water Cooling

Single monitor: 780

Multi-monitor: 770 4GB.

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master 212 EVO.

Thank you for your opinions, are you sure Hyper 212+ EVO will be sufficient with this kind of OC? Also I found Adata Premier Pro SP900 256GB for €163.33, I think I will go with that one.

The Hyper 212 Evo can support up to a 4.5-4.6 ghz if your cpu allows it.

Fyi, the Hyper 212 Plus and Hyper 212 Evo are two different coolers.

A lot of people here with OC use 212 EVO, or at least that's what some say in their signatures. So it does work.

Also, for SSDs, I always buy Samsung exclusively. 840 Pro > 840 Evo > 840 in terms of performance. Apples uses their SSDs exclusively, and for a good reason. It's one of the best out there. 8 second boot time with a 120GB 840 for me right now.

Current shopping list:

MSI GTX780 Gaming - €622.30 (I picked this one because it fits my color scheme the best and the 9970 probably won't be more expensive)

Adata Premier Pro SP900 256GB - €166.33 (@kotekking2 has it, zero complains)

Cooler Master Hyper 212+EVO + Arctic MX-4 - €39.87

I saved almost €50 from my budget, awesome!

No need for aftermarket thermal paste--not enough of a difference in temp imo.

Well I've found out I don't need to buy one, I have a spare one I bought in June, unused, so I will probably use it now.

The cooler also comes with it's own paste and it's quite decent.

I know that, yes, but if I have a spare MX-4 that I couldn't use anywhere else, why not use it now?

Hey guys I will be probably getting a sound card too, since I am getting the Sennheiser PC360, such an expensive headset should be paired with a soundcard. I wanted something around €100, I currently have my eyes on the Xonar Phoebus, is it the best I can get in my budget or are there better options?
