Switch between 2 OS?

So my friend is wondering, if at all possible, to install an OS on an external hard drive and use it to switch between Windows and Mac OS X/ Linux on start up. He's running Intel i7-3520M, 8.00GB of RAM, with windows 10 64-bit. My guess was to go through the motherboard's bios in order to set up the eternal hard drive as a boot drive, but I'm guessing that would give him error codes once he disconnects the drive.

Why not just try it and tell us how it goes?

Check out tonymacx86 since it sounds like your friend wants to build an hackintosh, you legally cant install mac os on windows pcs
