can you please help me! i do not know what is going on with my new computer build. i ran memtest for my ram and they are fine. I am not able to get windows 10 to boot. i am able to get to my bios and change my settings. When i install windows 10 it would ask to be restarted once installation is finished and once it restarts it freezes at the asus logo and the loop thing freezes. so i do not know if it is finish installing. in the bios set up screen the i see that there is "windows boot manager" i do not know why windows will not boot. Please help!

someone said it could be that there is too much ram memorey so i removed all but one ram chip and reinstalled in uefi mode. but still it freezes after the installation restart at the windows logo. i've installed it in 2666mhz, then 2400mhz, and 21333mhz, still freezes after the installation restart each time. my ssd is in my sata 1 and is my p1 in the bios, which would be my 1st boot device. i am sure of this because i've plugged it in to the next sata slot and when i got to the bios screen it says p2. please help thank you

Make sure secure boot is both supported and enabled in the bios. That is the biggest cause of freezing I have seen for windows 8.1/10 on new setups.

If this still does not solve things (assuming you have already reset the bios to defaults), attempt to update the bios. You'll need to download it through another computer and flash it through a thumb drive.

OK, so in your uefi reset it back to defaults then do the following

CSM Support - Disabled

Secure Boot - Enabled (and yes, load the Public Keys too)

Fast Boot - Enabled

Change nothing else then retry installation.

i've did everything you asked and after the windows 10 installation restart, it froze at the asus logo screen. with the looping circle thing freezing. didn't make it to the windows logo..

OK then, can you unplug all your other HDDs and if your using a USB installer unplug any optical drives as well and retry it again.

Also when you go back into setup look at the partitions created by Windows, are there 3 partitions?

i just have one SSD and no HDDS. there are no optical drives in this build. when in stall i delete everything from the previous windows installation and "install on drive 0 unallocated space" , but yes three partitions are created by windows beside the primary. as show in the picture below . the only usb that are connected is mouse, keyboard and the usb drive. should i disconnect all usb right before the installation restart.

Ok, that all looks normal. Your definitely using uefi mode and gpt.

This is a tricky one, usbs shouldn't make any difference. Have you updated to the latest uefi? Is your RAM still unplugged?

You could try removing your GPU and using onboard.

Failing that next step would be get another version of the install USB and try again though if the USB installer had issues I seriously doubt it would finish the first stage of setup.

Also consider getting Ubuntu and trying that.

i've updated the latest bios/ uefi. Bios version it first started with 1801, then i gradually updated to 1901 then the final 2001. i just have one 8gb ram connected. i've disconnected my other 3 ram chips. Is my mobo messed up at all? this is frustrating. i do not know what is wrong.

Before we can answer that you need to

A remove your GPU and try installing using onboard

B try another installer image

C try another OS

i removed the GPU but how am i suppose to see anything? i can't find any hdmi or dvi port? i am downloading the windows 10 on another usb drive.

Oh crap, I didn't realise X99 has no onboard GPU, that makes it hard to say if its the board/CPU or GPU at fault. You've got no choice to reconnect it, sorry bud.

Try another install image but other than that there's not much else you can try without additional components availing to start swapping things out.

i think it is a motherboard issue. i've tested all my other components and there is nothing wrong with them.  A RMA has been requested by Asus and it is going to be shipped to be repaired or replaced. thanks everyone for helping.
