Creating New YouTube Channel Help

ahuckphin
Go to solution Solved by ahuckphin,

Why don't you just change the name of your current channel?

Anyways, I see no reason why you'd have to put in your real name.

Thanks a lot for the answer

I will like to create an all new YouTube channel called "Ya Lah"

When creating a new account, it asks for first and last name. Can i place "Ya" in the first name section and "Lah" in the last name section or do i actually have to put my actual name?

Edit 1 - As i am a person far too lazy too read Google terms and conditions i wanted to find out whether it's legal not to my real name.

Edit 2 - Though most people say that you're channel name should reflect what you're doing, i would like an YouTube channel that focuses on an wide variety of things such as cars, tech and cats

Edit 3 - I do not want to change the name of my current channel because i've already got an custom URL for that and as far i know you can't change the custom URL

Edit 4 - my current youtube channel is called Dylan Ch'ng (my real name) and the apostrophe has cause confusion www.youtube.com/c/dylanchng

Interesting... Normally I'd say you're crazy but you actually named 3 things I love and I would absolutely subscribe to your channel as long as the content is consistently high quality (I never sub from just one video. If one impresses me, I go back and check out their past uploads. Multiple good videos = sub.)

You should be able to set your channel name as a "business name".  I believe your issue is that you may have your channel linked to a Google+ profile instead of a Google+ page.  I'm not sure how the current system works, because I know YouTube was removing the requirement of a Google+ link. HOWEVER, I know that previously, deleting a Google+ profile would result in deleting the channel as well, and they were supposed to change that, but I don't know if they did.  So definitely don't delete your Google+ profile.
