A 6600K with a H110? Pfft, waste of money. Switch that to a Z170 and you're good for overclocking. The rest of the first build looks good.

just out of curiosity what would you suggest he use instead of the H110?

get 1x8 GB ram because 8Gb is not much and you don't want to limit yourself to 16GB.
