It's just faster storage.

And it's not a spinning drive, it's a solid one.

That's why it's a Solid State Drive ( SSD ).

Pretty much this.

Solid state drives use memory chips, a lot like flash drives, only much faster. Since they have no moving parts, they can resist much more vibrating and other movements than hard drives can.

Check out my guide on how to scan cover art here!

SSD (Solid State Drive). They have no moving parts, which inherently makes them more resistant to physical damage (mainly shock damage, like dropping on the ground).

It would take a long time to fully explain what they are, so here's a fairly good place to start. http://www.storagereview.com/ssd_vs_hdd

They can read and write data faster than conventional mechanical drives, which is why they make the system boot faster and load applications faster.

All i know they make your pc turn on faster and if u install a game in it, it will run better but is it true and how does it work exactly?

Here you can learn more about what they are:

@ChaixD here's a benchmark of an HDD and an SSD. Notice the difference in the random read and write speeds between the HDD and SSD. That difference is what makes a computer feel faster for everyday use, where small bits of data are being read, rather than large files being moved.
