as title mentioned.

which to choose?

i am going to overclock, but just a little bit as i am a newbie at doing overclock.

but if i dont get the K version, it would be a waste for me to get the msi z170a gaming m5 right? (reason i'm getting this board is because it has a free rainbow six siege game)

You could do BCLK overclocking using the MSI board's BIOS but I'd honestly save the cash and get the i5 6600K instead if you're solely gaming.

6700k is always better. It's faster on stock, easier to OC, higher resale value.

Even if you're new to overclocking, I'd say just get the 6700K and go with that, because you can still overclock a little and leave it at that for the time being until you want to push it further. tbh I'd just get a 6600K if you're only gaming.

im doing game streamings and also designs and video editing. that's why im considering multi threaded cpus... if i was just gonna game, definitely will go for the 6600k. but does multi threaded cpu really help much? i mean. i wont stream games while im editing or anything. wont do much multi-tasking while im gaming/streaming my games.

The hyperthreading helps with tasks like streaming quite a bit. If you plan on streaming and video editing, having the extra threads is definitely worth it imo.

Likely not as far as you'll be able to push the 6700K. It depends on the price difference. what sort of price gap is there?
