Amp buzzing

Go to solution Solved by Random_person77,

iFi audio rep responded saying a little bit of hum is normal and with no plugs populated the unit has no connection to the ground.

He also clarified that the hum is associated to the gain and volume,so at full volume the hum is very clear due to how powerful the amp is.

I'm guessing that the audio artifacts and stuff aren't normal...for a high-ish end amp like this...

I tried moving power ports, trying it with different inputs but the problem persists even if i have nothing plugged into it.

And a ground loop hum also occurs when i plug it with my phone.

i already opened a support ticket to iFI's website but while i wait for a reply i thought i would ask you guys.

No...its not my audio source if thats what your thinking...

Pretty Sure that's normal.

Every One of my amps does that

not to that degree.

now that could just be cause their old. ...................

RMA it and see if it just that one that was defective?

Its not abnormal.  Although your case is a bit extreme.  I just woke up and cant remember what they're called, but you might try getting a "power conditioner" or something like that.  Your standard 120v circuits are kinda muddy and often times carry a lot of static.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

well i assumed static noise would be little to nothing considering they heavily advertised this feature

I don't know, this is why I don't buy no-name audio products.

It isn't a no name audio product, its a iFi micro ICAN SE

People were giving quite good reviews on it.

And my local store literally only had this or the sennheiser amps that are way pass my budget

It quite literally is a no name audio product.  You could have gotten a Pyle Amp and probably gotten a better deal.
