I have read in many places that having a 200mm fan will produce better air flow than having two 140mm fans. But I was looking at the layout of my case, a Phanteks Enthoo pro, and my drive cages block a good portion of the fan. Im only using one of the cages, and have it mounted to the bottom of the case. If I were to mount 2 140mm fans, at least the top one would have a more unrestricted air path, and the bottom one would do nothing but cool my sshd off. So my question is, would that one 140mm putting unrestricted airflow over my motherboard be better than a 200mm fan with half of it blocked off?

I'm using the stock 2 fans and stock layout of the fans included with my enthoo pro right now. I never had any problems with temperatures and that portion of the fan covered by the hdd cage is likely not going to affect anything mayor

MAYBE you would get 1C less on your parts if the cage was completely removed.

tl;dr- nothing you should worry about
