Hi everyone,

I've searched and searched for an answer but I haven't found anything that works.  I use Amazon Instant Video a lot for my digital content and lately I haven't been able to stream at all.  When I click "PLAY," all I get is the spinning blue dots of Microsoft Silverlight.  In the past I would sometimes see this but it would be quickly replaced with Amazon's buffer icon and the video would start playing shortly after that.  I have tried contacting Amazon and they say the problem is with Microsoft.  But when I contact Microsoft, they say the problem is with Amazon.  I know that it probably has something to do with the fact that I recently upgraded my hardware.  I changed out my motherboard and CPU.

My system specs are:

  • Intel i7-4770K
  • Gigabyte GA-Z87X-OC
  • Patriot Intel Extreme Masters Ed. RAM 8GB 1600MHz CL9
  • MSI GeForce GTX 660 Ti (PE)
  • XFX 550W PRO PSU
  • Corsair Force 3 SSD 120GB
  • Seagate HDD 1TB 7200 rpm 64MB cache
  • Windows 8 64-bit

Does anyone know of any solutions to this issue?  I have a lot of money invested in Amazon's digital content and any advice to help me view it would be greatly appreciated!

EDIT:  I am currently running Silverlight 5.
