Quick question about VPNs and VMs

Okay, so the company I work for has a VPN (broswer based SSL VPN it seems) I have to sign into before I can access any work stuff from home.

 

My question is, if I use a virtual machine to do all of my work on, will my host's network traffic also be sent through that VPN as well?

No if you connect to the VPN from the VM only the VMs traffic is sent through the VPN

It should not and if you want to double check just go to http://whatismyipaddress.com on both machines/vm to see which ip the traffic is going out from.

Host is unaffected unless it is configured to route traffic through the guest. VPN for work access probably won't be configured to route your default traffic through them so it probably won't matter.
