VPS with dedicated IP

lubblig
Go to solution Solved by ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Every VPS IP is dedicated and unshared. Only shared hosting includes a shared IP address.

So I'm looking into buying a cheap VPS to play around with, possibly try and make my own VPN.

Though, I'd like to have a dedicated IP (meaning that I will be the only user from the VPS provider that uses that particular IP) and not a shared one.

I've been looking at vpscheap.net since they had some really cheap budget stuff. But I'm unsure if they've got a dedicated IP or not. I'm currently looking at the basic budget model (if that is needed).

If not, does anyone know of another VPS provider that is cheap and provides dedicated IPs for each VPS? (By cheap I mean $20-30/year max)

Thanks!

Thanks, but it's a bit too expensive for me.

Every VPS IP is dedicated an unshared. Only shared hosting includes a shared IP address.

So I shouldn't have to worry about the one I'm looking at might have a shared IP? As long as it's a VPS it should have it's own IP?

You don't need to worry. Do you plan on selling this VPN, or is it just for private use?

Just for me (possibly my family/close friends. But no selling). I was thinking it could be a fun project but also for use with Netflix. Since Netflix is going to ban people with VPNs (again), I thought that if I had my own private IP that no one else used they may not know that it is a vpn wink.png It might be other stuff that factors in too but I thought I'd give it a go. It could be fun for other things as well if the VPN doesn't work like I hope.

You can also purchase multiple IPs, and rotate them if you have a custom client made. That would cost a fair bit though.

You could also purchase a dedicated proxy for a few bucks instead of setting up a VPN, or setup your own dedicated proxy. (VPN is more fun)

For the edit:

I know, but as I found this VPS for $20 a year, I got really excited as I don't really want to spend a whole lot more than that. But if I would higher my budget there are tons of great VPS services out there. Just wondering if someone knew of another service with similar prices.

I will look into that as well. But I still think I might go with a VPN since it could be a good way of protecting my traffic on open wifi hotspots etc as well.

Ramnode and budgetvm looked kind of interesting. Thanks for the tip, I'll have a look at what they've got to offer as well.
