So i was making this computer for someone and i put a xfx 430w proseries or something like that in their pc. Anyways we had a power cut as i was installing windows, my own pc, my fathers and my brothers all shut down and the Nintendo wii dramatically ejects its disc(i dunno why). The power cut was for just under 10 seconds but the pc stayed on weirdly. Any ideas as to what happened.

The capacitors were charged, therefore you wouldn't have lost anything if it was only for a short amount of time.

I didnt think capacitors would of lasted ten seconds, i guess that was down to luck. I doubt i could do it again. Its surprising as my fathers pc has a cx430 in it and i heard that the cx430 and the xfx 430w use the same parts.

You'd be surprised, but it honestly depends on the caps used as PSUs can stay charged for a short amount of time while the PSU isn't powered directly.
