Steam has that built-in or you can use RivaTuner Statistics Server which comes with MSI Afterburner.

Shadowplay isn't that bad if you've got Nvidia. But it doesn't seem to work on everygame. Like it doesn't work for me on Darkest Dungeon or Rocksmith 2014.
