so me and a friend talk a lot over skype while we play LoL or something he is just using an old laptop and some kind of razer gaming headset and i just got myself a Modmic 4.0 a pair of Audio technica ath-ad900x and a Syba sound card thingy

so the problem is that he complains about some weird piping sound like birds or someshit and all i get from him is a high hizzing sound almost like a nosehair trimmer right next to his mic how do i solve this???

i was thinking some cheapo external sound card might help with my buddies sound and the weird sound coming from me might be on his end right?

Use teamspeak. There are loads of servers where you can just create channels. Or you can make a server yourself.

You can have a "mic cut off point" where it will only send sound which is at a certain level so small background noises will not be heard.

Or as what Linus said, discord seems very good.
