how do i redeem a nvidia code? i am logged in and it still wont let me get a game code

Looks like the code is for the Uplay service.

You'll have to log into an account for that, and redeem it there.

Not the Beta, the full release will be but the Beta is Uplay only.

The full game is also on Uplay, and it seems you have a Uplay code, rather than a Steam code.

it logs me into uplay but nothing changes on the nvidia side

It's on both Steam and Uplay. If you're redeeming the Bullets or Blades promo then it will be with Uplay. I do know that promo is expired now.

Log into the Uplay desktop app and see if it's there. It might have already added it to your account and it's just not telling you.

If I remember correctly, I just logged-in (or linked) my uplay account in the nvidia redeem page, and followed the steps till I reached the last page (which is the success or something page).

Then I checked my games list on Uplay and it is there.

it was a google chrome issue it works fine and i got the code using Microsoft edge
