Can't connect to Ethernet

HI, I just built a nm brand new pc with all brand new parts and am having trouble connecting it to my Internet. I did a fresh install of windows and the first problem I encountered was the system telling me that it didn't detect any network drivers, so I troubleshooted the problem by installing the latest drivers including the ones for my motherboard. After installing those I still can't connect to Ethernet and it tells me that I do not have an Ethernet cable plugged into my computer. I know it's not my Internet because I can plug the cable I to my xbox or my other laptop and it works immediately. Thanks for the help

are you sure you installed the driver for the lan port? also which mobo you got?

Drivers. Make sure you installed the drivers.

Mobo is gigabyte ga-z170m-d3h, all my drivers are up to date

Sounds like its a dead lan port , if the same cable works on your xbox then it should be fine , id try doing a fresh install and get a cheap wifi adapter and let windows do a full update
