Slow Read Speeds HDD when opening Program

Hello everybody,

As the title suggests, my Western Digital HDD is really slow when opening a particular program (Brackets). The read speeds are about 0-100 KILOBYTES/sec, the write speeds abnormally high at 2-4 MB/sec (I'm just opening a program, so I don't know why this is so high), the access time is a few HUNDRED milliseconds and there are huge spikes between inactive and active periods. I've already updated and reinstalled Brackets twice, but this doesn't solve anything. Checking my drive for errors has also revealed nothing. 

 

Any help would be much appreciated.

Defrag your disks. 

 

Also, how full/old are your drives?

I've tried what you said and defragged the disk. However, brackets startup is still incredibly slow and I'm still seeing atrocious read speeds and access times. This is a new drive (I got the computer a month ago) and it's not full at all (about 150Gb used). However, I did short stroke the disk.
